Boost your catalog management using filtering

One of our goals is to enable Ergonode users to manage their product catalog more efficiently. Searching for products by just browsing their names within a catalog comprising hundreds or even thousands of entries would be prohibitively time consuming.

We have therefore streamlined the process with our filtering system.

There are two types of filtering: simple and advanced.

Simple filtering

In simple filtering you are using the grid to filter for anything you see in the grid. Just double click on "Search..." in the column, type what you are looking for, and press enter. You may only search for a single thing in a simple search. If you want to search for multiple ones at once use advanced filtering.

Simple filtering does not stay on after changing the page to another one and then coming back to the old one.

You may extend the grid columns simply by dragging new ones from the left bar.

And new column will be available for you instantly.

Of course, if you want to delete the displayed column you may drag it back to the left bar.

The whole process is that simple!

Thanks to filtering you now have a chance to edit all your products' attributes by only manipulating data on a single tab.

Saving Filtered Views

You can also save any of these filtered views to retrieve them at any point in the future quickly. To do this, navigate to the top right corner of the page, click on VIEW, Save the current view, type in a name for this preset, and confirm with the button next to the name.

This, and any additional views you create, will be available as a list whenever you click on the View button again. If you wish to remove a saved view, click on the VIEW button again, highlight the saved view you wish to remove and click on the waste bin icon next to it.

Filtered views can be saved on any of the three Catalog views – List, Grid, and Kanban. The type of catalog view each of the saved views corresponds to is indicated by the icons next to the listed views.

Advanced filtering

Advanced filtering differs from simple one by having filters set up till they are deleted, and with the ability to search for multiple things at once. Ex: list five SKU at the same time, or list products from two or more categories at once.

To use them click on "FILTERS" near the mass action button.

Then drag the attribute you wish to use for filtering, or simply to the upper section of the grid. If you add an attribute that is already on the grid it will change its color to green for a moment.

You can, of course, add more than one attribute to your filters.

Now when it's done click on the attribute in the filter section, and add or choose values you wish to search for, depending on the attribute type you are using.

After using advanced filtering you may still use a simple one to narrow down your search.

To delete filters click on "Remove filters".
